2005 PERMANENT DISABILITY RATING SCHEDULE (PDRS)

Published by the State of California, the Permanent Disability Rating Schedule (PDRS) provides a standardized method for assessing the degree of permanent disability resulting from an industrial injury in California's workers' compensation cases.

The 2005 PDRS applies to injuries occurring between January 1, 2005, and December 31, 2012. It is also used in conjunction with additional modifications specified in Labor Code Section 4660.1, to rate injuries that occurred on or after January 1, 2013.

Sullivan on Comp sections 10.10 through 10.21 provide a thorough discussion on the appropriate use of this schedule.

The Sullivan on Comp Rating String/Permanent Disability Calculator is based on this PDRS and applies the relevant requirements based on the date of injury when preparing permanent disability (PD) rating calculations.

Generally, the 1997 PDRS applies to dates of injury on or after April 1, 1997 and before January 1, 2005, although Sullivan on Comp sections 10.12 and 10.13 identify some exceptions, which would allow the 2005 PDRS to apply to injuries occurring before Jan. 1, 2005.
